NATHAN JOSEPH NAGER

I'll receive my BFA in Moving Image from the University of Illinois at Chicago in May, 2020. While the program is primarily concept-based, I took time to independently study technical skills which ultimately landed me an internship with UIC's Creative and Digital Services department. This gave me a deeper understanding of the Adobe suite and workflow as well as experience in a professional work environment. In addition to these benefits, I also was employed to craft interviews, and create footage and audio using 4k cameras operated via tripod, gimbal, and drone.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Expertise, Responsibilities, and Skills

December 2017 - May 2020

VIDEO PRODUCTION SPECIALIST

UIC Creative Digital Services gave me experience working to create visual narratives using Adobe CC (Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop). My responsibilities also included video capture, where I was often employed to improvise interviews and collect b-roll. I also created motion graphics, titles and lower thirds consistent with UIC's branding guidelines. In addition, I learned how to behave, operate, and communicate in a professional work setting.

September - December 2019

I wrote, directed, shot and edited this music video, starring me and my life-partner. We spent $0 on this production and shot it with one camera in three days.
